What Will I Need to Open an Account Online?
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number
- Contact information, such as address and phone number
- If you want another person on your account as a joint member, they will need to submit their information too.
What Does "No Minimum Balance and No Maintenance Fees" for Freedom Checking Really Mean?
This means we don’t charge monthly maintenance fees for having an account with us and you’re not required to maintain a certain account balance in your Freedom Checking account each month.1
Will I Need to Make an Initial Deposit?
To open your Freedom Checking account online, you will need to make a $25 deposit. This is your money, not a fee for opening the account. It just ensures that you’re a real person! Don’t want to make a deposit online? We do not require a minimum deposit when opening a checking account in person at one of our locations.
